Charles Cameron: Crooked Crosses & Bent Boxes

March 12 – 14, 2026

The workshop will kick off with a detailed overview of the pattern to orient the participants. Hands-on instruction will be provided for each step of the Crooked Crosses and Bent Boxes quilt pattern and classroom time will be allowed for participants to progress toward making a 60” x 50” throw size quilt.

‘Semi-improv’ is a technique for those who want the look and feel of improv, but who aren’t quite ready to give up their rulers. The pattern uses efficient, traditional piecing techniques like strip piecing and nested seams.

Latifah Saafir Workshop: Half Rectangle Triangle Design School

July 23 – 25, 2026

Take your quilting to the next level with the bold, versatile Half Rectangle Triangle (HRT)!

In this immersive three-day workshop, you’ll master the techniques for cutting, sewing, and trimming perfect HRTs — then discover just how limitless they are as a design tool.

Beyond standard shapes like chevrons, diamonds and arrows, we’ll explore whole quilt designs, radiating layouts and inventive block based designs. You’ll build a “design vocabulary” of HRT-based blocks and explore how color, scale, and proportion transform them into show-stopping quilts. With plenty of guided design play, you’ll experiment on the design wall, sketch layouts, and scale your ideas into a finished quilt top that’s uniquely your own.

Sandra Lee Chandler Class: Quilted Blazer

August 22, 2026

In this one-day workshop, with Sandra Lee, you’ll turn old quilted fabrics into a beautiful, modern quilted blazer. The blazer will be designed to create a surprising visual moment from a quilt you love. You will learn how to carefully place your pattern pieces so that the parts of your quilt that you like best are front and center in your finished blazer. This will make sure that the motifs, colors, or blocks that you love stand out.

You will learn how to change a commercial pattern, make quilted fashion panels, stabilize old or reused quilt materials, sew together parts of a garment, and add personal touches by hand-stitching.

This workshop combines creativity, cultural storytelling, sewing clothes, and quilting skills to help you make art that you can wear that shows off your style, heritage, and artistic voice.

You don’t need to have worked with clothes before. The class is set up so that beginners who are confident can keep up, and more experienced students will still find the techniques interesting and useful.

This workshop covers unique machine-piecing techniques, and color and fabric guidelines for creating the complex and mobile reflection of a kaleidoscope. While gaining insight into the nature of symmetry and intricately printed fabrics, students will learn to create a design that sews together successfully and renders a kaleidoscopic image filled with luminosity and dramatic impact.

This class culminates in the creation of a unique and fabulous kaleidoscope block. Often effects more wonderful than you imagine occur, making you both the one who makes the magic and the one who is surprised!
