With four experiences to choose from, there’s an option to fit your group interests. Each option includes a guided tour of the galleries where you’ll be immersed in the amazing artistry of the quilts on exhibit.
Experiences are for adults ages 18+ and ideal for small groups of 8-20 people.
Be sure to plan extra time for your group to visit the Gift Shop after the experience concludes!

Fused Quilt Art
Explore the quilt exhibits through a guided tour with the NQM Director of Learning and Engagement. Afterwards, supplied with fabrics and irons, you’ll take your inspirations to the classrooms as you design and create your own quilt block using a fusible appliqué technique. These blocks are finished with a matboard frame to become your quilt art souvenir. Beginners welcome! No quilting experience required.

A Creative Stitch
Experience how quilts are made starting with an exclusive, interactive tour with the NQM Director of Learning and Engagement. After being inspired by the incredible quilts on exhibit, you’ll be guided through the quilt making process of designing, sewing, and quilting your own quilt block keepsake souvenir from start to finish. Beginners welcome! No quilting experience required.

NQM Guided Tour
Paducah is known as Quilt City USA! Explore quilting as an art form in this guided tour through the current exhibits at The National Quilt Museum. You’ll learn about the museum’s history, and the stories behind the quilts, as you take in quilts of all styles from around the world on this docent-led tour.

White Glove Experience
An exclusive “behind the scenes” look at collection management. You’ll enjoy an interactive white glove experience on how to care for and handle exquisite quilts. Bring your questions for practical guidelines on protecting your own treasured quilts. This experience includes a tour with the NQM Director of the Collection and Registrar.
