Join us for an immersive workshop where you’ll learn to craft a stunning wallhanging adorned with dimensional flowers that will bloom in beauty and uniqueness. In this class, we’ll guide you through the process of creating lifelike fabric flowers that pop off the surface of your quilt, adding a touch of three-dimensional elegance. Perfect for quilters of all skill levels, ‘What in Carnation’ introduces you to innovative techniques that transform flat fabric into a garden of textured beauty. Come join us and cultivate a quilted masterpiece that celebrates the artistry of dimensional flowers.

Materials Needed:

  • A fat quarter for your background
  • Three fat quarters of green for leaves
  • Five fat quarters of flower colors
  • A fat quarter for your backing
  • A piece of batting at least 22 inches square
  • Sewing machine and accessories (needles, power cords, etc)
  • A gathering foot that fits your machine (please check that it is NOT a RUFFLER foot! Email pics to Cheryl if you are not sure)
  • Threads to match your fabrics (2-3 colors)
  • Pins or clips
  • Hand sewing needle
  • A quilting ruler that is about 6 inches by 12 inches

Cheryl Sleboda is an award-winning quilter and fiber artist who calls Paducah KY her new home. In 2014 she launched her quilting pattern and notions business, and in 2022 opened a quilting boutique storefront in downtown Paducah. Cheryl has taught for nearly all the national quilt shows for many years and has appeared over 30 times on It’s Sew Easy TV and Quilting Arts TV.
