New Exhibit: New Quilts from an Old Favorite – Wheel of Fortune

New Exhibit: New Quilts from an Old Favorite – Wheel of Fortune

Our brand new exhibit is the newest edition of New Quilts from an Old Favorite. This year our contestants redesigned the "Wheel of Fortune". The contest requires that each artist interpret the traditional block into something new.

The Wheel of Fortune is a simple nine patch that is eye-catching, but an often forgotten patch. The block has various names, including three-quarter triangle and the more modern name Dresden Plate. Due to it's simple construction, it is an excellent choice for beginners.

Participants can then enter their quilts to be judged based on artistry, technique, and interpretation of the block. After that the remaining quilts are judged by a panel of 3 judges that evaluate each quilt's design, theme, innovation, and workmanship. The winners are selected and notified, and are awarded a cash prize. All winners and finalists pieces are then displayed in the exhibition.

This exhibit will be here until October 6th, 2020.
