Gifts of Securities

Gift of Securities

The National Quilt Museum does accept gifts of stocks and other securities.

The museum has accounts established with a local brokerage firm in Paducah, KY. A gift of securities is a popular option for accumulated stock that has appreciated in value and would be subject to capital gains tax if sold.

Current tax laws provide incentives to make a charitable gift of stock at a low tax cost. These tax incentives frequently limit the donors exposure to capital gains taxes and/or offer charitable income tax deductions of up to 30% of adjusted gross income.

For information on making a stock gift to The National Quilt Museum, please contact either Dr. John Lewter or Frank Bennett at 270-442-8856.

Your Contribution at Work...

National Quilt Museum - Gifts of SecuritiesOver 120,000 people per year enjoy the work of today's quilters through museum in-facility and travelling exhibits. Over 40% of museum visitors are nonquilters most of whom are experiencing the art form for the first time. Many of these individuals become quilters themselves. Others simply become fans of the art form and tell others about their experience at the museum.

Museum exhibits are primarily made possible through the kindness and support of people passionate about quilting. The Museum is a 501c3 nonprofit organization.
